FAQ

If you have a question that wasn't answered here, contact us.

Here are Floof Heavens's frequently asked questions (FAQ) and their answers. Many questions inquire about fursuits, commissions, furry community, and more.

Q: What do you offer that makes this business different from others?

A: resin casted eyes, foss-shape head bases, airbrushing, "globe" eyes, yarn "hair" and tails, & silicone parts like teeth and claws

Q: What can you not do when it comes to fursuits?

A: resin head bases, electronic/LED parts, 3D printed parts/head bases, real animal fur, real animal teeth claws, and parts.

Q: Can I get help with making my own fursuit?

A: Yes, I have a guide for that in mind that is really helpful.

Q: What if I don't have a clear reference for my character because I'm not good at drawing?

A: You can describe your character in detail or commission a reference from me or another artist. There are  templates on Google you can use for free!

Q: How long does it take to finish a fursuit

A: As for me, I intend to get done with partial suits within a week/week and a half but full suits take longer. It depends on how much time you put into the project each day so it can be from a week to months.

Q: What fursuit base is "the best"?

A: They all have pros and cons but the most durable and long-lasting would be the foam base. Resin or 3d print bases are much lighter and smaller than foam heads, which can be convenient. Foss-shape is more durable than resin heads and doesn't break easily, but it can be damaged by heat and by being crushed by objects.

Q: What is a high-quality fursit?

A: A quality suit is always lined on the inside, has strong reliable  sewing, has resin or 3d printed eyes, has high quality fur and parts, has accurate anatomy and patterns to the reference, and should be somewhat symmetrical in the pattern and its features. Quality heads can range from $750-1600, partials can be from $1000-2500, and full suits can range from $2500-5000.

Q: How do I avoid being scammed?

A: Always avoid buying from Ebay, DHgate, Wish, and facebook. You can get real fursuits from the Dealer's Den, but to be extra safe you may need to see if there are any "bewares" on a maker before buying a fursuit.

Q: Is it okay to put my fursuit in the dryer?

A: NO

Q: how do I wash my fursuit?

A: Heads hands and tails can be washed in a tub very gently with laundry soap. Avoid scrubbing too hard and you may need to cover the eye mesh but it is not totally necessary. You may need to replace soapy water with fresh water a few times. Air dry with fans blowing inside and outside of it. bodysuits can be washed inside out in a washer in a cold setting. Do not put any fursuit parts in the dryer. While drying brush the fur so it doesn't crinkle.

Q: Why do I have to show I.D for certain art and fursuit commissions?

A: I have to verify your age so inappropriate content is never given or shown to minors that are not mature enough to be influenced or make adult decisions. Minors grow out of fursuits quick and can be a waste of money and time to make them for growing bodies. It is logical to only work with adults that are 18 years old or older.

Q: How is bad or inappropriate behavior handled while communicating about commissions or important questions?

A: I always offer a few warnings because I understand no one is perfect and mis-communications happen often. After my last warning I will no longer speak to the person and refund payments. I will not work with the person again after black listed. No artist or crafter should accept abuse or manipulation from customers ever. We give chances because we are nice enough to do so. I don’t allow scamming, begging, bullying, non-constructive criticism,  sexual role play, demands of anything, trolling, any sort of emotional manipulation, and attention seeking.
